Program Information
Requirements to Participate
School of Education (SOE) undergraduate or graduate student
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Full-time student status
Ability to volunteer a minimum of 5 hours per month

Volunteer Opportunities
School Information Packet Creation – assisting in packet preparation for prospective students
Post Visit Contact – reaching out to prospective students after they visit campus
Facility Tours – providing guidance tours of SIU educational facilities to interested students, families, and groups
Event Preparation – assisting in event set up and planning
Clerical Duties – copying, file management and promotional material development
Living Learning Community (LLC) – assisting with developing and attending activities for the SOE LLC floor
Meet with Prospective Students – representing SOE and meeting with visiting students to share your SIU experience
Campus-wide Events – representing SOE at large, on-campus events like Open House, Academic Showcases, and SIU Days which can include setup, breakdown, greeting, decorating and other tasks as needed
Dean’s Advisory Council – share thoughts with the dean on school improvement along with other student ambassadors
Calling Campaigns – contacting admitted SOE students to connect with them and share SOE experience over the phone
