Program Information
Requirements to Participate
- School of Education (SOE) undergraduate or graduate student
- Ability to volunteer a minimum of 5 hours per month
Benefits Include
- Serve as an official representative for the School of Education
- Hands-on experience working with faculty and administrators
- School of Education t-shirt
- Letter of recommendation provided
Volunteer Opportunities
- Post Visit Contact – reaching out to prospective students after they visit campus
- Facility Tours – providing guidance tours of SIU educational facilities to interested students, families, and groups
- Event Preparation – assisting in event set up and planning
- Meet with Prospective Students – representing SOE and meeting with visiting students to share your SIU experience
- Campus-wide Events – representing SOE at large, on-campus events like Open House, Academic Showcases, and SIU Days which can include setup, breakdown, greeting, decorating and other tasks as needed
- Calling Campaigns – contacting admitted SOE students to connect with them and share SOE experience over the phone
